The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting 100% fruit juice to 4 to 6 ounces a day for 1 to 6-year-olds; for 7 to 18 years limit to 7 to 12 ounces a day.

Sugar-Free is often a misnomer, sugar free just means the company has not added any table sugar. If ingredients like dextrose, fructose, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, molasses, maltodextrin or maple syrup are listed the food contains sugar.

Check the total number of carbohydrates, every 4 grams of carbohydrates equals a teaspoon of sugar.    

GERD

Researchers in Britain reviewed the medical records of over 145,000 patients over the age of fifty. Those taking drugs for GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) including Nexium, prevacid and prilosec increased their risk of hip fracture by 44%; the longer the use the greater the risk.

For those who need long-term PPI therapy researchers recommended increasing your calcium intake, preferably through dairy foods.
