Hidden Sugars

Sugar-Free is often a misnomer, sugar free just means the company has not added any table sugar. If ingredients like dextrose, fructose, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, molasses, maltodextrin or maple syrup are listed the food contains sugar.

Check the total number of carbohydrates, every 4 grams of carbohydrates equals a teaspoon of sugar.
